Pall ring was developed by BASF in the 1940s on the basis of the Raschig ring. Through punching holes in the ring wall to greatly improve the inner space and surface, Pall ring achieves some obvious advantage than Raschig ring, such as less airflow resistance, large flux, high separation efficiency and flexibility of operation,etc. Nowadays, Pall ring is widely used tower packing in fine chemical industry.
