The reason why molecular sieve 3A is applicable to the hollow glass

  • Molecular sieve 3A only adsorbs water, not oxygen and nitrogen in the air.

  • Molecular sieve 3A is weakly alkaline with a pH value of 10.5 and will not cause damage to the aluminum strips in the hollow glass.

  • Molecular sieve 3A has a fast water absorption rate of 0.04g/s.

  • Molecular sieve 3A has a large water absorption capacity, more than 20%.

Molecular sieve 4A is not applicable to the hollow glass

Molecular sieve 4A not only adsorbs water in the air but also oxygen and nitrogen, which will cause the hollow glass to bulge outward or inward due to changes in external temperature and pressure. When the external temperature rises, the adsorbed nitrogen and oxygen of molecular sieve 4A will be released, causing the internal pressure of the hollow glass to be greater than the external air pressure, resulting in outward bulging. When the external temperature drops, molecular sieve 4A will adsorb nitrogen and oxygen again, making the external air pressure greater than the internal pressure of the hollow glass, and then the hollow glass may bulge inward or outward. This bulging phenomenon will affect the sealing performance of the hollow glass, and more seriously, it will cause damage to the hollow glass. Therefore, molecular sieve 4A is not applicable to the hollow glass.

The correct use of molecular sieve in hollow glass

  • The molecular sieve special for hollow glass should be sealed before use. If the package is damaged, it should not be used. If the opened package is not completely used, it should not be re-sealed and used.

  • The filling should be carried out in a dry and dust-free indoor environment.

  • After the molecular sieve package is opened, it is strictly forbidden to expose it in the air for a long time. From filling to gluing and bonding, it should be completed continuously in a short time. The aluminum frame filled with molecular sieve should be made into a hollow glass within 45 minutes.

  • The four sides of the sealed hollow glass must not have air leakage.

  • After the hollow glass is glued and bonded, it is strictly forbidden to expose it to sunlight.

  • The molecular sieve filling machine is best to be closed. In short, it is necessary to do regular inspections, dryness, indoor, dust-free, fast filling, prevent air leakage and exposure to sunlight.
